For Veterans & Transitioning Service Members
This is the training that qualifies you for those jobs, not a job board. 19 weeks, online, and your GI Bill® pays for it. Better you know that now than on the phone call.
Two Ways In
Both are certificate programs at Millersville University, 19 weeks, online. Applied AI Mastery covers building software, automations and AI systems. IT and Cybersecurity Fundamentals covers hands on security labs and the three CompTIA exams. Neither is a job opening.
Build AI systems, automations and agentic workflows for businesses. Points at development, automation and AI specialist roles.
Talk to Admissions
Prepare for three CompTIA certifications in 19 weeks, with hands-on labs using industry security tools. Points at security analyst and IT support roles.
Talk to AdmissionsA military background plus technical skills counts for a lot in federal contracting and defense work, and in the private sector too. National figures, pay varies by market and experience.

Covers full tuition at Millersville. A VA certifying official handles the paperwork.
Service-connected? VOC Rehab covers tuition, supplies, and extra support on top.
Full-time enrollment qualifies for a monthly housing allowance from the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. The 19 weeks are not 19 weeks of no income.
Not an exhaustive list, and not a promise of a hire. These are the roles the two certificates are built around, and where a military background tends to land well.
Watching systems, spotting what does not belong, responding when it does. The closest thing to what many veterans already did in uniform.
Keeping the infrastructure running. The most common first door into the field, and the one that opens fastest.
Building the automations and AI workflows businesses are scrambling to put in place right now.
Writing and shipping applications, increasingly with AI doing much of the heavy lifting.
Where a clearance is worth the most. Contractors need cleared technical people and the pool is small.
A large share of the work is done from anywhere, which is why so many people arrive here searching for remote work in the first place.
Six levels either way, from the fundamentals to a new career. The full course breakdown lives in the guide for each program.
Length
Start to certificate. Monthly start dates, no waiting on a semester to begin.
Time
Online, with live sessions. Enough to plan around, not so much that it rules out a job.
Pace
Progress comes from showing mastery, not from the calendar.
Support
One on one guidance, small group sessions, and feedback from people working in the field. Nobody figures it out alone.
No. It is a university certificate program that qualifies you for the jobs above. We put that here because people have reached the phone call still expecting a job opening, and that wastes your time and ours.
No, and be careful with anyone who promises that. You leave with a university certificate, a portfolio of work you built, and skills employers are hiring for. Applying is still on you.
Yes, plenty of it, which is a real part of why people move into tech. Fully remote entry-level roles are more competitive than hybrid ones, so go in with your eyes open rather than assuming the first job is remote.
Not the training. But it matters a great deal afterwards: cleared technical candidates are scarce, and sponsoring a clearance costs an employer months and real money, so holding one already changes which doors open.
Yes. Post-9/11 GI Bill® covers tuition at Millersville in full, nothing out of pocket. VOC Rehab (VR&E) covers more on top. VET TEC is a separate benefit that does not apply here.
Yes. Full-time enrollment qualifies you for Monthly Housing Allowance at the E-5 with dependents rate based on Millersville's zip code.
Most people do. Plan for about 9 hours per course each week, online, with the live sessions scheduled. It is real work, but it is built for people with a job and a life.
Neither. The programs start at the fundamentals and plenty of veterans arrive with no technical background at all.
Issued through the Lombardo College of Business at Millersville University. Founded 1855. PASSHE member institution. VA approved for GI Bill® and VOC Rehab.
A short call about the goal, the training, and whether the route fits. Admissions will say so if it does not.
